If the Shoe Doesn’t Fit

Brian has a Dutch background so it’s only fitting that we have a pair of Dutch shoes on our Christmas tree. The ones on there now are actually wooden ones on a key chain. We have a beautiful glass set but we’re afraid they will get broken. They are within Adam’s reach so he takes them off the tree.

The wheels in his head are turning. He was sitting me telling me about the small shoes there. Suddenly he said “shoes on”. I chuckled but he was serious.

Adam sat there for at least 10 minutes trying to get the shoes on. When that failed he went for a different approach.

Smart kid, like his boots he’s thinking gravity will help him put the shoes on. This also went on for quite some time. He bent over and picked up the shoes and scurried into the kitchen. He opened the utensil drawer and said “Cut shoes” At this point the camera went down and I went chasing after him. It took me a while to realize why he wanted to cut the shoes. Sometimes when you get new shoes they are tethered together so you have to cut the plastic thing before you can wear them. I do this all the time in front of Adam so naturally in his mind if he cuts them he can put them on.

Smart kid, however he still hasn’t figured out the shoes won’t fit.
