Money For Mickey!

I need a break. We need a family vacation. The sad truth is that in the almost 13 years Brian and I have been together we have never been anywhere with palm trees together. The furthest away we’ve been is only about 3-4 hours away from home. The one night that we have been away from home as a family was for a funeral. We’ve had adventures but a true vacation, not so much.

This is going to change!

We’re planning a trip to Disney! I believe that every child needs to go to Disney World at least once in their life. My parents took my sister and I 3 times and Brian has been many more times. It is a right of passage, it is a place where magic truly happens. It is also beyond expensive and something that we didn’t think we’d be able to do for another few years. (However we’re still planning that trip too.)

We’re saving pennies, trying to save as much as possible and even accepting donations. This is something we really want to do and it is something we want to pay for with cash.

We’ve decided to use Adam’s cuteness to our advantage as well.

If this kid runs up to you and asks “Money for Mickey?” are you going to say no?

We’re still a ways away from this trip. The dates still have to be hammered out but I am looking forward to it more than you can ever imagine.

It’s a wonderful goal and something awesome to work towards.

For those who are wondering – no this isn’t the special project either.

  1. We’re saving for our first real family vacation too! We’ve gone to see family but never anywhere else. We’re thinking maybe Sea World and Busch Gardens in FL but we’re not sure yet. 🙂 Good luck with your savings!
