Review: Divergent

Divergent
Divergent by Veronica Roth

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was a quick and easy read. I wasn’t sure I wanted to read these books as it is along the same lines of the Hunger Games, which I enjoyed to a point but eventually wanted to burn and was wishing the main character dead.

I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this book. I found I was able to immerse myself into the storylines and actually liked the characters in this book.

Of course it is a young adult book so there was a bit of teen angst, a few eye rolling moments but it was palatable.

I turned around and watched the movie right after and I liked how it was translated to film. It was very close to the book, and much of it was exactly how I pictured it in my head.

I am very curious on how this series ends so of course I jumped right into the next book. Hopefully it just gets better than the last one and I don’t feel the same way with it as I did at the end of the Hunger Games.
